On 14 March, leaders from across the North East of England will travel down to Cannes in France to showcase the region at one of the world’s largest real estate conferences.

26 organisations and more than 50 delegates have come together with the united message that the North East is an exciting, innovative and sustainable place to do business with bold ambitions for the future.

MIPIM is a world-leading real estate exhibition bringing together cities, investors and developers from across the globe to share capital investment opportunities and to explore the latest challenges to the sector.

Organisations including Monstarlab, Ryder Architecture, Avison Young and NCG are joining Invest Newcastle, part of NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI), to position the region as smart, sustainable and inclusive with a growing creative and screen industry.

Invest Newcastle has launched its programme of events which highlight key opportunities in the region, including in the health and life science space with Newcastle University’s Campus for Ageing and Vitality, the renaissance along the banks of the River Tyne in Gateshead and devolution.

Jennifer Hartley, Director of Invest Newcastle, said: “MIPIM is an incredible opportunity to showcase our sector strengths in tech, health and life sciences, the visitor economy and energy and sustainability as well as profile our growing screen industry.

“With major global players in attendance, we are gearing up to help unlock millions of pounds worth of investment for the region together with a diverse delegation of colleagues who are all passionate about delivering jobs and investment for Newcastle, Gateshead and the wider region.”

Liz Bromley, Chief Executive, NCG, said: “NCG plays a key role in developing talent and skills in the region. We are delighted to be part of the delegation that’s representing the North East. Education is a fundamentally important part of what makes this region such a great place to live, work and study. We are so looking forward to being part of MIPIM 2023.”
